How PRIME works
On a supporting device, PRIME software guides nurses step by step, with every consultation reviewed by a doctor.
1
In-depth patient history taking
PRIME conducts structured spoken consultations in the patient’s native language (English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Sesotho, Setswana, Xitsonga, Siswati, Tshivenda, IsiNdebele, Swahili, Portuguese, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) ensuring clear communication and accurate information capture.
2
Differential diagnosis & patient summary
PRIME generates a differential diagnosis and a concise summary for the practitioner, improving accuracy and saving time.
3
Recommended examinations & investigations
PRIME suggests the most relevant physical examinations and investigations, keeping care structured and standardised.
-
Interprets blood results
-
Reads and interprets ECG images (direct device connection)
-
Connects with a digital stethoscope
-
Analyses skin lesions and other clinical images (tonsils, tympanic membrane, etc.)
5
Local guideline integration
PRIME references South African guidelines, advising when to administer oxygen, give stat medication, or escalate to a specialist.
6
Prescription generation
Automatic prescription creation, improving safety and reducing administrative time.
PRIME emails patients their diagnosis, potential adverse reactions to monitor, and lifestyle advice – extending the quality of care beyond the consultation.
Each consultation is automatically forwarded to the supervising doctor for remote review and approval, enabling nurse-led care with physician oversight.
Three days later, PRIME checks in with the patient by phone call and email. If the patient reports ongoing or worsening symptoms, the system automatically books a follow-up or alerts the doctor for direct intervention. This ensures every patient is followed up, no one slips through the cracks and this is all done without needing the doctor's time.
