Nurse-led care needs doctors, just not in the room.
With fewer than one doctor for every 1,000 South Africans, nurses deliver most primary care, and nurse-led clinics and pharmacy clinics are growing. Most of their cases are within the nurse's scope. The ones that are not, need a doctor's judgement, and a doctor's signature.
That is the role PRIME offers you: the clinical oversight behind a network of nurse-led care, delivered remotely and paid per review.

Why it works for doctors

A typical informal request:
- A phone call or WhatsApp message with half the history.
- No examination findings, no vitals, no photos.

A PRIME case:
- The full history, in the patient's words with the English translation.
- Vitals, examination findings and clinical photos.
- A ranked differential with its reasoning, and the danger signs that were ruled out.
- A proposed prescription cited to the STG/EML. You edit or sign off, and it is documented and paid.

By a clinic or pharmacy you work with, or by PRIME after you contact us.

When a nurse's case needs a doctor, you receive it by email, with a link to the structured case.

History, findings, photos, differential and the proposed prescription, on one screen.

Edit or sign off
Your decision goes straight back to the nurse, and the patient is treated.

How do I join?
PRIME is invite only. A clinic or pharmacy you work with can invite you, or you can contact us and tell us about your practice.
How am I paid?
Doctors are paid per review. Contact us for current rates.
Do I need special software?
No. Cases open in your web browser from the link in the email.
How long does a review take?
Every case is structured the same way, with the history, findings and proposed prescription on one screen, so you can review efficiently. Take the time each case needs; you can edit any prescription before you sign it off.
What about my professional responsibility?
You review within your own scope and HPCSA registration, with the full case in front of you, and nothing is signed until you sign it off.
